Last night I DJ’ed a holiday party for Samsung, held at the Kalahari Resort in Round Rock, Texas. The event was a great success, and guests stayed to dance until the final song was played before heading off to an after-party at Redd’s Piano Bar and Lounge. Dinner was great, the Kalahari staff was incredibly polite and helpful, and in general, though a lot of work, the night was a lot of fun for me from a DJ standpoint. The guests were happy, easy-going, and seemed to love every song I played.
The setup was somewhat involved, as I was playing in a fairly large ballroom. I had four speakers set up next to the dancefloor, providing ample volume for the dancers, but also had to run two more satellite speakers to the other side of the room to make sure everyone could hear speeches and announcements. In addition, I brought along my photobooth, plus a printer so guests could take home a memory of the event.
