    Sam & Laurie 50th Anniversary Party 7-18-26

    Mark, aka DJ Sway, was the DJ for Sam and Laurie’s 50th wedding anniversary party at the Lost Pines Resort in Lost Pines, Texas. He put together the following recap of their special day, including all the music he played for them and their guests.

    Sam and Laurie spent some time in Guadalajara Mexico after their marriage and wanted to pay homage to that by opening up their cocktail hour with margaritas and light instrumental numbers. I played instrumental cumbias from that era to keep it nostalgic and light for conversation.

    At the end of the night they asked me to play some farewell songs meaningful to them ending in Guadalajara by Vicente Fernandez to pay homage to their time in Mexico, and devote a portion of the night to say goodbye to all of their guests on the way out.

    I’m not only an Austin wedding DJ, I’m an Austin wedding anniversary DJ, too! Just last night I DJ’ed a 50th wedding anniversary at the River Place Country Club in Austin. Everything was just right. The guests were happy and friendly, and very appreciative of both my music and the photobooth I brought along. The food was delicious, and once dinner was done and the lights went down (and my lights went up), the party was on!

    The couple asked me to play three worship songs to close out the evening, and they were a big hit. The guests made a circle on the dance floor and sang and danced along to all three songs.
