Yesterday’s wedding was held at the Steiner Ranch Steakhouse in Austin. It’s a great place for a banquet of any sort, and an absolutely perfect place for a wedding. And I’m not just saying that because I was served a delicious ribeye steak last night!
The wedding ceremony took place in a separate room, and I was only there to provide music for dinner and dancing. Many of the family members, and guests, came from Chicago, which no doubt influenced the couple’s choice intro songs, both of which are from The Blues Brothers. That’s one of my favorite movies, and I’ve got the soundtrack on vinyl, so it was easy to have those songs cued up for the grand introductions. After that, dinner was served, and I tucked into my aforementioned ribeye.
The group was lively and fun, and very friendly, too. They were full of compliments, and seemed to genuinely enjoy all the music I played. I’ve listed it all below, as always in the order played, along with notes where applicable.
